HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A husband and wife from Grand Haven are in the hospital after being pinned in their vehicle in a Monday afternoon crash.
Sgt. Bob Ruster, of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, says at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 84-year-old Gene Peterson, of Grand Haven, was headed northbound on U.S. 31 near Stanton Street in 2015 Lincoln Navigator. His vehicle then traveled off the east side of the street, overturned and struck a tree before coming to a rest on it’s wheels in a ditch.
Peterson and his wife, 84-year-old Donna Peterson, were extricated from the vehicle and transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The couple were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash which remains under investigation.
