HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity thanks the community for your continued support is bringing decent, safe, and affordable housing to members of the community.
In a press release leading up to Thanksgiving, they shared stories from families that have moved into a habitat home and whose lives are forever changed.
In May of 2016, the Adams Family moved into their habitat home. Habitat says the family of five was living in a two bedroom apartment with electrical and mold issues. In addition, they were in an unsafe neighborhood, and had items stolen from their garage. Bobby and Cassie Adams thanks the community. “I’m so thankful for all the volunteers and other homeowners who have worked on our home. We are truly blessed to be able to go through a process like this.”
Stacey Korecki, Volunteer Manager for Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity says they will be participating in this year’s Giving Tuesday on November, 29. Koreck says they will be raising funds their builds that will be coming up in 2017. “Some may not know but our homeowners do pay back a mortgage, however we have to have our homes funded before we can start building them. In order to do that, we need donations from the community.”
Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
