HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Over 1300 guests in the Holland area will break bread tonight at the Holland Rescue Mission’s Annual Great Thanksgiving Banquet for those in need.
The Mission says it’s a time for fellowship to families in the area who cannot afford to prepare a meal or who have no one to share the holiday with.
Anna Southwell of the Holland Rescue Mission says “Typically 500 families attend every year. These are low income families. Families who cannot even provide a large Thanksgiving meal for their family. Sometimes they just don’t have friends or family to share the holiday with. These are the types of people we see at the event.”
The Great Thanksgiving Banquet is tonight, Wednesday, November 23, at Devos Fieldhouse at Hope College located at 222 Fairbanks Avenue in Holland. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the meal is served at 6 p.m. All are welcome.
