GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 30-year-old Hudsonville man has died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday night, November 27.
Sgt. J. Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says Korey Taphouse was walking westbound on Port Sheldon Road just before 6 p.m. on the north side of the roadway. He was then struck by a 2012 Jeep driven by Heidi VanderVie, 46, of Hudsonville who was westbound on Port Sheldon Road.
Taphouse was treated at the scene and then transported by Life EMS to Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids in critical condition. He died of his injuries this morning says Sgt. Steve Austin of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
Vandervie was not injured in the crash and was wearing her seatbelt.
