HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – In the spirit of the season of giving, Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity will be participating in Giving Tuesday on November 28.
In a press release, the lakeshore organization shows where your dollars go with a follow up on several area families and how thankful they are to the community for their new homes provided by Habitat.
The Eastburn family thanks the community for their support. They were living in married housing at the Holland Rescue Mission as they prepared to transition into a Habitat house. Parents Christian and Daysha were eager to have a safe and stable home environment to raise their children and create good memories. They moved into their new Habitat home in July of 2016.
“We are just so grateful and thankful for all of you. We thank you for your prayers, financial support, volunteering for our sweat equity and just being there for us. Most of all, we are just so moved by the relationships built over this long, challenging process. We give this victory to a God who has never left our side and to the people of God who were the hands and feet of Jesus” says Christian Eastburn.
Stacey Korecki is Volunteer Manager for Lakeshore Habitat and wants the community to know that they are raising funds for their builds in 2017. “Something that people do not know is that our homeowners do pay back a mortgage on a Habitat home. We have to have our homes funded before we can start building them. We have to buy all the materials and can keep the cost down with volunteer labor, but we do need to out up funds ahead of time. In order to do that we need donations.”
Three families have been approved for builds in 2017 and Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity encourages you to give on Giving Tuesday. Donations are accepted online for Lakeshore Habitat for Humanity on Giving Tuesday.
Since its inaugural year in 2012, #GivingTuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year.
