HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC) – The 30-year-old Hudsonville man who died of his injuries after being struck by a vehicle On Sunday, November 27, is being mourned at Grand Rapids Harley Davidson.
Korey Taphouse was a service manager at the dealership and leaves behind a wife Emily and two small daughters, Hazel who is four-years- old and two-year-old June.
Sgt. J. Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office says Taphouse was walking westbound on Port Sheldon Road just before 6 p.m. on the north side of the roadway. He was then struck by a 2012 Jeep driven by Heidi VanderVie, 46, of Hudsonville who was westbound on Port Sheldon Road.
Taphouse was treated at the scene and then transported by Life EMS to Spectrum Butterworth in Grand Rapids in critical condition. He died of his injuries Monday morning.
