HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – First Lady Sue Snyder announced yesterday that Grand Valley State University, among other Michigan universities and colleges, will receive over $500,000 in grant money to combat sexual assault on campus.
18 Michigan higher education schools will be receiving a total of $506,191 from the FY 2017 General Fund to implement sexual assault prevention programs on their campuses.
GVSU was awarded a total over $33,000 in grant money, which comes at a welcome time after the four sexual assaults that happened on and around GVSU’s campus since the start of the fall semester.
No word yet on what types of programs will be implemented at GVSU using the grant money.
