HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Sunday’s heavy snow left thousands of Consumers Energy customers without power in parts of Ottawa and Allegan counties, Monday morning, December 5.
The heavy snow caused tree limbs to break and that brought down power lines and blew transformers says Roger Morgenstern who is Senior Public Information Director of Consumers Energy. “Right now there are about 340 customers in Ottawa County without power. That’s down from close to 1,000 from late last night. The weather is helping tho as there is no wind. The wind yesterday also caused saggy power lines too. ”
Morgenstern says crews have been working all night and hope to get power restored by this 11:30 this evening.
In the event of a power outage, you can reach Consumers Energy 24/7 at 1-800-557-4625 or online.
