HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A long-time public servant in Holland is getting a fond farewell.
Joel Dye has been a city staffer for 16 years, starting as a City Planner and eventually becoming Holland’s Director of Community and Neighborhood services. He has tendered his resignation, effective December 30th, in order to become the new Manager for the City of Allegan. Dye replaces Mark Howe, who was handling the operational leadership duties on an interim basis after Rob Hillard resigned in July.
In a statement, City Manager Ryan Cotton praised Dye’s contributions, citing his work in building up the Washington Square and South Shore Village neighborhood commercial areas. A nationwide posting is slated to look for applicants to fill Dye’s position.
A two-hour public Open House for Dye is slated for Monday afternoon, beginning at 3 PM, in Council Chambers at Holland City Hall.
