PARK TWP., MI (WHTC) – Two persons living in a Park Township home suffered minor injuries in a fire that consumed much of their dwelling last night.
Crews from two fire departments and other first responders were dispatched to the residence in the 100 block of Woodwind Drive, in a subdivision off of Lakewood Boulevard east of 168th Avenue, on a report of a garage fire. The firefighters were able to bring the blaze under control in about a half hour and keep the flames contained to the garage area, although there was smoke and water damage done to the house.
Three family members and a pet dog were able to escape and two vehicles were moved in time to avoid being damaged by the fire. The two injured residents were treated at the scene, and no first responders were hurt.
A cause of the incident remains under investigation.
