LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A West Olive man was tabbed for a new panel that will serve as advocates for those in Michigan with disabilities.
Steven Johnson, president and founder of the OASIS Community of Western Michigan, a group that supports young adults with special needs and those raising them, was named by Governor Snyder to a new Developmental Disabilities Council. The 21-member blue-ribbon committee, created earlier this year by an Executive Order within the state Department of Health and Human Services, will help in getting Michigan in line with current state and federal laws involving those with developmental disabilities.
Johnson will serve a term through the end of September in 2018.
