POLKTON TWP., MI (WHTC) – Apparent impatience by a 30-year-old Allendale woman led to her and a passenger spending yesterday afternoon on hospital beds. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Kevin Allman, April McKenney was driving west on Leonard Street near 88th Avenue south of Coopersville when she attempted to pass two slower vehicles ahead of her as Theron Stone was driving east. An unavoidable head-on collision ensued. McKenney and 29-year-old Eric Cody of Battle Creek were taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital for treatment while Stone, a 37-year-old Spring Lake woman, wasn’t hurt. McKinney was cited for improper passing and for driving on a suspended license.
