UNDATED (WHTC) – The Ottawa County Parks and Recreation Commission, during the monthly meeting this afternoon, will go over a number of letters protesting the decision to remove a sign that had a Biblical verse from the grounds of Hager Park near Jenison. However, no action on the matter is expected, and the issue may go before the county board next Tuesday. Meanwhile, Grand Haven’s city council voted to not put up a seasonal Christian cross on Dewey Hill this summer, ending a five-decade tradition. A lawsuit was threatened by groups objecting to the city putting up religious symbols.
