ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – It will be a clean sweep of undersheriffs along the Lakeshore as 2015 gets underway. Allegan County Sheriff Blaine Koops announced the retirement of Jim Hull as his number two man after 13 years. He becomes the first ever Allegan Sheriff’s undersheriff to retire from his post, ending a 41-year stint in the department. Koops is looking forward to promoting Captain Frank Baker, a 24-year veteran, to be his top assistant. Hull’s retirement will be effective in six to eight weeks. Later this month, Greg Steigenga will step down as Ottawa County Undersheriff, to be replaced by Captain Steve Kempker.
