HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – Bad breaks turned into a bad break for a 43-year-old Holland woman through no fault of her own on Holland’s North Side this morning.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant David VanderPloeg, Ellen Doyle was driving eastbound on James Street with a green light ahead of her, while Cortrell Jones of Holland was bearing down on southbound 136th Avenue, apparently unable to stop for the red light ahead. A collision ensued, and Jones’ claim of brake failure on his car was substantiated by investigating deputies at the scene.
Doyle was taken to Holland Hospital for treatment of minor injuries; Jones was not hurt. The crash remains under investigation.
