HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – The search is on for a suspect in a carjacking on Holland’s North Side late on Saturday night.
According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Greg Rotman, an unnamed 30-year-old Park Township man was sitting as a passenger in a parked vehicle outside of a party store off of Felch Street and 136th Avenue just before 12 Midnight. A “young” black man with a ski mask over his head jumped into the vehicle, drew a weapon, and demanded to be driven off. After leaving the scene, the victim was told to stop and get out of the vehicle. The suspect then drove off, abandoning the vehicle that was recovered by deputies a short distance away. Although shaken by the ordeal, the victim suffered no injuries.
No other description of the suspect was immediately disclosed. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department or Silent Observer.
