HOLLAND (WHTC) -A new truck stop is being proposed at the southwest corner of I-196 and M-40 on Holland’s south side. Pilot/Flying J Truck Stop is proposing the new facility, which would include a restaurant, convenience store and separate fuel area for semis. Company officials presented preliminary plans to the Holland Planning Commission Tuesday. They will seek variances on city zoning laws for the area on setbacks from the road, landscaping and signage. The new truck stop is just up the road from the Tulip City Truck Stop. You might also remember Holland Township approved a controversial Love’s Travel Center truck stop last year at I-196 and 16th Street over the objections of nearby residents, who are battling to block the project in court.
