HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A pre-dawn fire forced employees of Challenge Manufacturing off of Washington Avenue in Holland to safely evacuate the plant. Holland Public Safety crews contained the flames to the wood framing of a skylight assembly and put out the blaze within a half hour. An initial investigation revealed that the accidental fire may have been caused by sparks from process machinery used to spot weld auto components. No injuries were reported. Damage was estimated at less than 10 thousand dollars.
