HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A local veterans group is calling on the city of Holland to add the name of a Marine who was killed in Afghanistan more than two years ago to the veterans monument at Centennial Park. Gunnery Sergeant Daniel Price of Holland was killed in July 2012 during an attack while on routine patrol in Badghis Province. He was on his fourth tour of duty in Afghanistan when the attack occurred. The Holland Area Veterans Council has sent a letter to the city asking Price’s name be added to the monument that lists the names of Holland soldiers and sailors who gave their lives for their country. Price is buried in Pilgrim Home Cemetery. The City Council is expected tonight to refer the veterans’ groups request to city staff to handle.
