Holland, MI (WHTC) – Lakeshore-area schools have tapped out their allotted number of snow days for the year after cancelling class due to the bitter cold we’ve experienced this week. The freezing temperature that the Holland area had yesterday pushed schools such as Allegan, Fennville, Holland, Zeeland, Saugatuck, and a host of other lakeshore-area schools to cancel class, which pushes them over the six snow day a year mark. Any additional day may have to be made up by schools in order for the districts to maintain their eligibility for state funding. That means that Hamilton and West Ottawa students may be in school longer than they thought this year, as a snow storm in early February forced them to close.
