TROWBRIDGE TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 35-year-old Allegan area man died on Saturday morning in a crash along M-89.
According to Sheriff’s Deputies, the vehicle of Rickie Sheldon Jr. had pulled over east of 26th Street just before 9 AM to pick up a relative whose pickup had broken down in that spot. As he was climbing back into this venicle, another eastbound venicle struck and killed him on the spot.
Deputies did not immediately disclose the name of the driver whose vehicle killed Sheldon and did not issue any charges. Investigators were able to determine that this driver was buckled up, was not drinking or was impaired, and that there were no indication that the driver was on a cell phone at the time of the incident.
The investigation into the matter continues.
