Saugatuck/Douglas Wins Another USA Today Honor

SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) – For the second time in as many years, Saugatuck/Douglas won an online contest from USA Today. The Lakeshore community fended off challenges from Ogunquit, Maine and Gulf Shores, Alabama to earn the honor of “Best Coastal Small Town in America” in a month-long contest that ended on Monday. Last summer, Saugatuck/Douglas was USA Today’s “Best Summer Weekend Escape” in a similar competition. The area’s Visitors Bureau is planning a “victory party” after Labor Day.
