BUCHAREST (Reuters) – The first U.S. troops reinforcing NATO allies in Eastern Europe amid a Russian military build-up on Ukraine’s border arrived in Romania, Defense Minister Vasile Dancu said on Tuesday.
The United States is relocating a Stryker squadron of around 1,000 U.S. service members from Vilseck, Germany to Romania. Dancu told reporters the first 100 of them were in the country, a NATO member since 2004, to handle logistics.
