LEIGHTON TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 61-year-old Wayland area woman was hospitalized for observation after her vehicle crashed into a northeast Allegan County home this afternoon. The unnamed driver claimed that a surgical boot that she had on her right foot got stuck on the accelerator, causing the minivan to end up in the house’s family room off of 146th Avenue near 8th Street. The homeowner wasn’t in at the time, and thought that a deputy’s call about the incident was a prank so he didn’t immediately return to the scene.
