DETROIT, MI (WHTC) – Today is opening day for the Detroit Tigers. The Four Tops are scheduled to sing the Star Spangled Banner at Comerica Park as the Tigers take on the Minnesota Twins.
It will be a first for the Motown group. There will be other firsts. David Price will pitch on opening day, his first as a Tiger after five consecutive starts by Justin Verlander, who starts this season on the disabled list, also a first for him.
It will also be the first time bacon and eggs will be served at the concession stand. It’s one of the many new items added this year. It features a thick slab of bacon with three deviled eggs made with sriracha hot sauce. The eggs will then be topped with a fried jalapeno slice.
