Fleeing Felon Takes Federal Plea Deal in Robinson Twp. Gun Shop Burglary

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – Sentencing is pending for a 21-year-old Muskegon Heights man who took a plea deal with federal prosecutors stemming from a burglary of a Robinson Township gun dealer. Xavier McCarty admitted to be a felon with a firearm in exchange for having a theft charge dropped. Sheriff’s Deputies say that he allegedly broke into Felix’ Marina and Gun off of Green Street last October 14^th and ran out of his shoes while attempting to flee the scene. McCarty could face up to 10 years in prison.
