HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – In a statement posted on the City of Holland’s website, Mayor Kurt Dykstra announced that he would not seek a fourth two-year term as the elected leader of the Tulip City. Citing “positive events” that have occurred in his family in recent days that he didn’t want to immediately explain, Dykstra said he made the announcement in order to have anyone wishing to succeed him be able to file nominating petitions by the state deadline of next Tuesday. He has been a part of City Council for 10 years.
