HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland Mayor Kurt Dykstra won’t seek reelection, so Mayor Pro Tem Bob VandeVusse will hope to replace him. First elected in 1991, the longest current member of the City Council is also the Director of the Howard Miller Library and Community Center in neighboring Zeeland. In throwing his hat into the mayoral ring, VandeVusse is leaving his own Fourth Ward seat.
Sixth Ward Councilman David Hoekstra will seek another fourth four-year term, while the terms of Second Ward Councilman Jay Peters and At-Large Councilman Wayne Klomparens also end this year, with the state filing deadline for the August 4th Primary Election approaching on Tuesday.
