HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Ground has been broken on a 145-megawatt Holland Energy Park on about 10 acres of land near the Eastern Gateway. When completed by early 2017, the 200 million-dollar natural gas-fueled power plant is expected to not only fulfill energy needs over the next four decades, but to do so more cleanly than the coal-fired DeYoung Plant that it is replacing. Funding comes from 158.8 million dollars in municipal bonds and through Holland BPW cash reserves.
