Fire Strikes Downtown Holland Retailer

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland Public Safety Firefighters responded to a roof fire at a River Avenue business late Thursday afternoon. Workers making repairs atop of Reliable Sports south of 10^th Street apparently sparked the flames that were believed to have been contained to the retailer and not spreading to the nearby Park Theatre. River Avenue was closed for a time to allow hook and ladder crews access to the blaze. No injuries were initially reported, and investigators didn’t immediately determine a cause of the fire.
