HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Hope College will be holding their annual Alumni Banquet today and three graduates with very long careers will be awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award. The Hope College Alumni Association will be presenting these awards to Dr. Douglas Neckers, a 1960 Hope graduate from Perrysburg, Ohio; Dr. Jerold Veldman, a 1955 Hope graduate from Okemos, Michigan; and Lois Veldman, a 1956 Hope graduate also from Okemos. The Distinguished Alumni award pays tribute to the awardees’ contributions to society across decades or a career and service to Hope College. The award, which was inaugurated in 1970, is the highest honor an alumni can receive.
