HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – Sheriff’s detectives looking into a fatal house fire on Holland’s North Side that claimed the life of four-year-old Charlie Campa on Monday don’t believe that it was suspicious in nature. They say that the blaze in a subdivision off of Beeline Drive and Riley Street started on a rear deck outside of the house, and may have been sparked by flickering coals from a charcoal grill that was used there earlier in the evening, or from cigarette butt embers in that area. There were also no working smoke detectors in the dwelling The investigation is still open, and tips to Silent Observer are welcome.
