GRAND HAVEN TWP., MI (WHTC) – One woman was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash on US-31 south of Grand Haven during the Noon Hour today. Deputies say that 60-year-old Nancy King of Fruitport tried to turn left from the highway to Comstock Street and drove into the path of 36-year-old Abbie Deverney of Grand Haven. King’s 91-year-old mother Doris Hartwick, a front-seat passenger, wasn’t buckled up and succumbed to her injuries about five hours after the crash. All three women were taken to North Ottawa Community Hospital, where King and Deverney were initially listed in stable condition. As is normal procedure in fatal traffic crashes, the case will be forwarded to Ottawa County Prosecutor Ron Frantz’ office for review upon completion of the investigation.
