LANSING, MI (WHTC) – A northeast Ottawa County grower is among the first members of a new 31-member gubernatorial panel. Helen Dietrich of Ridgeview Orchards in Conklin will serve a two-year term on the Talent Investment Board, created earlier this year with advising and assisting the governor regarding compliance with the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act. According to a statement from Mr. Snyder’s office, “The board will bring together employers, organized labor and community-based organizations, including apprenticeship programs, to make recommendations on how to best develop workforce talent across the state.” Dietrich will represent the private sector on the board.
