NEW YORK (WHTC) – Two schools in the Holland/Zeeland area placed among the top 50 statewide in US World and News Report’s annual Best High Schools rankings. Black River Public School was fourth in Michigan and 320th nationally, while West Ottawa was 42nd in the Great Lakes State. Jenison, Grand Haven and Plainwell also made the statewide list best on overall student performance in state-required tests, effectiveness in educating least-advantaged students, and results from college placement examinations.
