GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – A 15-year-old was struck and thrown from his bicycle Saturday morning in Grand Haven township.
The driver of the vehicle, Richard Allen Scheerer, 60, of Muskegon was northbound on Mercury Drive near 152nd Ave when the bicyclist who was headed south, failed to stop at a stop sign.
Sgt. Altman of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department says Hau-Hung Tran, 15, of Grand Haven was struck and thrown from his bike. He was transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries, including a head injury. He was not wearing a helmet.
Scheerer suffered no injuries and was wearing his seatbelt.
