NUNICA, MI (WHTC) – One person died and two first responders were injured in an apparently electrocution at a home north of Nunica on Monday evening.
When Crockery Township crews arrived at the residence on Apple Drive east of 120th Avenue around 5:50 PM, a 43-year-old man was lying in the front yard next to an electronic lift that he had been working on. That lift was touching a power line above, and two firefighers deploying an AED were jolted by electric current flowing from the line to the lfit.
The homeowner was pronounced dead at the scene, while one of the respondents was hospitalized in serious condition and the other was treated and released. No names were immediately disclosed as the incident remains under investigation.
