HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A rollover crash at U.S. 31 and Riley street has sent a Holland woman to the hospital.
Rita Huron, 54, of Holland was stopped for a red traffic signal on southbound U.S. 31 at the median turnaround at Riley when she was struck from behind by Brandon Morey, 25, of Muskegon.
According to Sgt. Vanderploeg of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Morey fell asleep at the wheel and struck the rear of Huron’s vehicle which then went in the median and overturned.
Huron was transported to Holland Hospital where she was treated for minor injuries. Morey did not suffer any injuries and both were wearing their seatbelts.
As a result of the crash, both southbound lanes were bocked for over 45 minutes this morning.
