PORT SHELDON TWP., MI (WHTC) – Consumers Energy officials say that three three-week-old peregrine falcon chicks were banded at the utility’s JH Campbell complex in Port Sheldon Township today. It brings the number of successful bandings since 2004 to 29. The mother of the three chicks was not banded and facility staffers weren’t sure if she had nested at the site last year. State DNR has data of some of the falcons that were hatched in West Michigan being located as far away as Fort Wayne and Indianapolis.
