POLKTON TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC) – A pregnant woman and another passenger were injured in a crash last night after their vehicle hit a deer on I-96. 24-year-old Muskegon resident Stephanie Holk-Bertoia was driving east bound near the 14 mile marker on I-96 in Polkton Township around 9:30 pm Friday night when a deer ran across the highway and Holk-Bertoia was unable to avoid hitting it. 41-year-old Bangor resident Joseph Gartner was in the backseat of the car and sustained injury to the neck, while Holk-Bertoia complained of stomach pains after the incident. They were both transported to Hackley Hospital and are in unknown condition.
