LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Two of the state’s nine counties with unemployment rates under four percent in April are along the Lakeshore. In numbers compiled by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, Ottawa County has the lowest jobless mark of 3.1 percent, with Allegan County’s 3.8 percent tied with Kalamazoo County for sixth. Those levels have fallen half of a percentage point and seven tenths, respectively, from March. A year ago, the rates stood at five percent even and 6.1 percent.
