HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 72-year-old Holland Township motorcyclist attempted to avoid a crash on Holland’s North Side but couldn’t avoid a trip to Holland Hospital on Friday afternoon. According to Ottawa County Sheriff’s Sergeant Christie Wendt, Raymond Gutierrez was westbound on James Street and was approaching Ashbourne Street, between US-31 and Beeline Drive, when he attempted to slow down for backed up traffic ahead. He lost control and laid his machine down on the roadway. No other vehicles were reportedly involved. Gutierrez is expected to recover from a leg injury suffered in the incident, which remains under investigation.
