SAUGATUCK, MI (WHTC) – A man was airlifted to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital with critical injuries and three children were hospitalized after the Jeep crashed and wedged between several trees in Saugatuck yesterday.
According to Michigan State Trooper Craig Theodore, the man whose name is not being released, was traveling south on 64th Street when his Jeep veered off the road, into a ditch then into a power pole before wedging in a cluster of trees.
Rescue workers extricated the man from his vehicle and he was conscious and semi-alert. The three children were transported to Holland Hospital for treatment.
A Consumers Energy crews responded to make sure everyone was safe from the downed lines.
No names have been released.
