HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – With more and more people spending time in the waters surrounding Holland, The Coast Guard urges people to have a safe-and fun- time enjoying all that the lakeshore has to offer. To help inform the public on being safe on the water, Coast Guard Station Holland will hold its 12th annual open house from 10am- 2pm today. During the open house, visitors can learn about the emergency equipment the coast guard uses for search and rescue missions, tour some of the boats used by the facility, and learn about boating and fire safety from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, The Michigan Department of Natural resources, and numerous fire departments. The Holland Coast Guard Station is located at 2388 Ottawa Beach Rd.
