HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Lots of free events and activities on this week’s list of things to do in Holland!
6/8 Monday: Holland Millers Baseball Home Game at Hope College Boeve Baseball Stadium- Named after Holland’s most historic and recognizable landmark, the Millers compete on Hope College’s Boeve field in Holland Michigan. They participate in the Michigan Summer Collegiate Baseball league against teams from Grand Rapids, Muskegon, Bloomfield, and two teams from Detroit. All players in the league are on loan from their respective Division I-III college rosters from around the country, and play during the months of June and July in an effort to hone their skills in preparation of their next collegiate season. Most of our players are, in fact, originally from high schools right here in West Michigan, and relish the opportunity to come home and work on their considerable skills in front of their hometown families and friends. A wooden bat league, games remind fans of a bygone era where the crack of a bat on a white leather ball was what summer was all about. Come out some evening and relive baseball’s glory years. 301 Fairbanks Avenue, Holland; 6pm; $5 for adults and $3 for seniors and students.
