WAYLAND, MI (WHTC) – Michigan State Police detectives at the Wayland post are using the 53rd birthday of Robert Villarreal to reignite the investigation into his disappearance. He was last seen sleeping on his mother’s couch before she left her Holland-area home for work on May 18th, 1989, with his wallet, money and other personal belongings left behind at his residence in Douglas. It was initially believed that he had fled to avoid an upcoming court date, but family members didn’t think that was likely. Tips to 269-792-2213 are welcome.
