HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A family of three, along with two cats, was able to safely escape an overnight house fire on Holland’s North Side. Crews say that the blaze at the home on Vander Veen Avenue, in the vicinity of Lakewood Boulevard and Douglas Avenue, apparently started near the back deck, and flames reached up into the home’s roof before firefighters were able to bring them under control. There was no initial determination of a cause, nor was there any initial damage estimate made.
