HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A two-vehicle crash at US-31 and James Street in Holland Township early this morning has sent a Holland man to the hospital.
Dat Phan, 46, of Holland was driving east on James Street and crossed the southbound lanes of US-31 into the median according to Sgt. J. Douglas with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s office. Phan then proceeded to cross the northbound lanes, but did not stop for the red light. He did not see the Toyota Camry driven by Kevin Gasper, 22, of Zeeland and pulled out into his path.
The Phan vehicle was then struck in the passenger side door. The front seat passenger Hoang Nguyn, 47, was transported to Holland Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
Gasper and Phan were not injured in the crash and alcohol was not believed to be a factor. Dat Phan was cited for disregarding a red light.
