HOLLAND TOWNSHIP, MI (WHTC) – Mental health services in Ottawa County are seeing program cuts and layoffs because of a major budget loss.
Community Mental Health has already laid off nearly 30 employees, according to WZZM 13.
The new financial problems stem from a variety of issues, including a 50 percent cut from state funding. County leaders claim that Ottawa County receives the fewer tax dollars per capita than any other Michigan county.
County leaders are expecting $5 to $7 million in additional funding cuts over the next five years.
