HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A new book being published by an independent author will detail on the history and growth of the Holland Municipal Farmers Market.
Where City and Country Connect traces the growth of the local market’s humble beginnings in 1979 to its current location on Eighth Street with nearly 100 vendors.
The author of the book, Michael Lozon, is also the owner of The Write Way, a Holland-based business that specializes in Michigan history and personal memoirs, as well as Freestyle Photography. Lozon captured candid photos of market visitors and vendors throughout the 2014 season to place alongside his text on the market’s history.
Inspiration for the book came from the co-owner of Visser Farms, Cindy Visser, who wanted to show peopled the history of one of Michigan’s most popular markets.
The book is being sold exclusively at the Holland Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays during this year’s season.
